Padel4all & PadelLevels – A Multi-Site Approach to Ratings in UK Padel

The Challenge: Creating a Consistent Rating System Across Multiple Clubs

Padel is growing rapidly across the UK, but with that growth comes a major challenge—how do players find the right opponents across different venues?

In sports like squash, we’ve seen how a trusted, data-driven rating system transforms the playing experience. SquashLevels has become the gold standard, ensuring competitive balance at all levels. With padel expanding at pace, the need for a structured, accurate rating system has never been greater.

For Padel4all, one of the UK’s leading multi-site padel operators, the challenge was clear. They had developed their own proprietary membership system rather than relying on external platforms like Playtomic. But while they had full control over their operations, they recognised that a reliable, scalable rating system was essential for organising matches, structuring sessions, and supporting player development.

However, unlike a single-club setup, Padel4all had to ensure consistent ratings across multiple locations. That’s where PadelLevels came in.

The Solution: Seamless API Integration With Existing Club Systems

Our relationship with Padel4all started in Bristol, where both companies share local roots. In fact, it was the first place Richard and Jethro ever played padel, making it a fitting starting point for this collaboration.

From the outset, Padel4all bought into the vision of a unified, data-driven padel rating system—one that could be seamlessly integrated into their operations. But given their multi-site structure, the approach needed to be different from a typical club rollout.

Instead of implementing iPadel Box Leagues from scratch, we worked directly with Padel4all’s existing league system, using an API integration to create a fully connected rating solution. This allowed us to:

✅ Link into their proprietary league system, ensuring smooth integration

✅ Use their initial rating process to set accurate starting levels for players

✅  Ensure cross-club calibration, allowing ratings to remain consistent as players move between venues

✅ Identify and adjust anomalies, particularly in doubles pairings with mismatched skill levels

✅ Allow ratings to evolve naturally, based on match results rather than subjective self-assessment

This approach meant that Padel4all could retain full control over their internal systems while still benefiting from a structured, real-time rating system—a critical step towards building a scalable, national framework for padel.

A Multi-Club Network: Calibrating Ratings Across Locations

One of the unique aspects of this project was ensuring that ratings worked not just within individual clubs, but across multiple sites.

The first phase focused on integrating Padel4all’s Lockleaze and Basset Down venues, ensuring:

🎾 Accurate club-level ratings, setting a solid foundation for each location

🎾 Cross-club consistency, so players moving between venues had a fair and comparable rating

🎾 Seamless player progression, ensuring ratings evolved fairly as more data was collected

With these two venues now fully calibrated, they serve as Anchor Clubs—key hubs where ratings are tested and refined before rolling out more widely.

Jethro Binns, co-founder of LevelTech, explains:

“Padel4all presented a really exciting challenge for us because we needed to ensure accuracy across multiple clubs, not just within a single venue. Rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach, we worked with their existing structure to create an adaptable, scalable rating system. Now, with Bristol and Swindon calibrated, we have a proof of concept that can be expanded nationwide.”

The Results: A Proven Model for Multi-Site Padel Clubs

Two Padel4all clubs (Lockleaze & Basset Down) fully integrated and calibrated. API-based connection to an existing league system, showing flexibility in implementation. Hundreds of matches recorded, refining ratings with real match data and a scalable model for national rollout, ensuring ratings remain accurate across multiple locations

Players now have a data-backed rating, removing the subjectivity of self-assessment. Unlike traditional single-club implementations, this model proves that PadelLevels can be integrated into existing systems without disrupting club operations.

The Future: A Nationwide, Connected Rating System

With Padel4all’s initial venues now fully onboarded, the next phase will focus on expanding the system to more locations and integrating ratings into inter-club leagues and wider competitions.

As more players log results, the rating system will become even more refined, offering every player—from casual competitors to tournament entrants—a clear, trusted reflection of their level.

We’ll leave the final word to Angus (Group Operations Manager at Padel4all), who has played a key role in making this happen:

“Since we first opened our doors, we recognised that a clear and consistent ratings system was essential to the player experience at our clubs. As a multi-site operator, we needed a solution that could provide consistency across all our venues without disrupting our existing operations. PadelLevels have seamlessly integrated with our proprietary box league system to provide a structured, data-driven rating system that evolves with player performance. This not only ensures fair and competitive matchups, but also enhances player development and engagement. With Lockleaze and Basset Down now fully calibrated, we’re excited to see how this system continues to grow and improve the playing experience for our community.”
