The inaugural UK Padel Convention on Wednesday 19th November, hosted by our partners and friends over at The Padel Directory, was an amazing day for UK padel. The energy was off the charts, the conversations were rich, and the entire UK padel ecosystem – from clubs and booking platforms to racket brands and facility operators came together under one roof to shape the future of the sport.

We were there flying the flag for accurate player ratings as PadeLevels, and what we heard from every corner of the room was resoundingly clear: the UK padel world is crying out for a unified rating system.

A Fragmented Landscape

At present, ratings and rankings in UK padel are fragmented across multiple platforms, apps, and internal systems. Players jump from one club to another, play across different leagues and events, but have no consistent or reliable measure of how good they are – or how they’re progressing.

Every conversation we had echoed the same concern: this disjointed approach is holding back the sport’s growth, confusing players, and making competition structures difficult to manage. Plus, it makes those games where all 4 players are evenly matched harder to come by.
